Get and Restart Measurement commands don't restart measurement correctly

Applies To:

Firmware for the following:

  • GRV-EPIC-PR1
  • GRV-R7-MM1001-10
  • GRV-IAC-24
  • GRV-IACDCTTL-24
  • GRV-IACHV-24
  • GRV-IACI-12
  • GRV-IACIHV-12
  • GRV-IDC-24
  • GRV-IDCI-12
  • GRV-IDCIFQ-12
  • GRV-IDCSW-12

Versions Affected:

For GRV-EPIC-PR1: All versions prior to 2.0.2
For listed groov I/O modules: All versions prior to R1.3b
For GRV-R7-MM1001-10: All versions prior to 2.0.2

Resolved In Version:

For GRV-EPIC-PR1: 2.0.2
For listed groov I/O modules: R1.3b
For GRV-R7-MM1001-10: 2.0.2

Symptoms:

The following PAC Control commands are supposed to restart the measurement at the start of the next pulse or period:

  • Get & Restart Off-Pulse Measurement
  • Get & Restart On-Pulse Measurement
  • Get & Restart Period
However, with this issue, if an on-pulse, off-pulse, or period is in progress, these commands do not restart the measurement at the start of the next pulse or period; the command continues to measure the current pulse or period.
You will notice this issue when you run the commands with channels on the following modules:
  • GRV-R7-MM1001-10
  • GRV-IAC-24
  • GRV-IACDCTTL-24
  • GRV-IACHV-24
  • GRV-IACI-12
  • GRV-IACIHV-12
  • GRV-IDC-24
  • GRV-IDCI-12
  • GRV-IDCIFQ-12
  • GRV-IDCSW-12

Workaround:

Before a Get and Restart command, ensure that the current pulse or period is complete with the appropriate command:

  • Get Off Pulse Measurement Complete Status
  • Get On Pulse Measurement Complete Status
  • Get Period Measurement Complete Status

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue. Note: To completely resolve this issue, you must update the firmware on GRV-EPIC-PR1 and on the groov I/O modules listed, as well as GRV-R7-MM1001-10.
