Can't switch between "5-30 VDC" and "Switch Input, Powered" on GRV-R7-MM1001-10 I/O unit

Applies To:

PAC Control Basic
PAC Control Professional

Versions Affected:

R10.3a to R10.3a

Resolved In Version:

R10.3b

Symptoms:

In PAC Control, if you do the following steps, the channel type is not changed:

  1. Open a strategy with a GRV-R7-MM1001-10 as an I/O unit.
  2. In the navigation tree, expand the GRV-R7-MM1001-10 branch and double-click Channels.
  3. In the Configure I/O Channels dialog box, find a channel configured as "DI: 5-30 VDC" or "DI: Switch Input, Powered".
  4. Click on the Channel Type for that channel and select the other discrete input channel type. For example, if the channel was "DI: 5-30 VDC", then select "DI: Switch Input, Powered".
  5. Click OK.
  6. Re-open the Configure I/O Channels dialog box by double-clicking Channels in the navigation tree. You will see that the channel you changed in step 4 has reverted to the previous discrete input channel type.

Workaround:

Change the channel type to something other than "DI: 5-30 VDC" or "DI: Switch Input, Powered", then change it to the desired channel type:

  1. Open the Configure I/O Channels dialog box.
  2. Click on the Channel Type for the channel you want to change and select any channel type other than "DI: 5-30 VDC" or "DI: Switch Input, Powered".
  3. Click OK.
  4. Re-open the Configure I/O Channels dialog box.
  5. Click on the Channel Type and select the desired channel type.
