Can't restore Node-RED backups between GRV-EPIC-PR1 and GRV-EPIC-PR2
Applies To:
Firmware for the following groov EPICs:
- GRV-EPIC-PR1
- GRV-EPIC-PR2
Versions Affected:
3.2.0 to 3.2.2
Resolved In Version:
3.3.0
Symptoms:
When uploading a Node-RED project backup file (from a GRV-EPIC-PR1) to a GRV-EPIC-PR2 (or vice versa), groov Manage displays the following error on the Check Device Model step: "The backup file is not compatible. It is from a different device."
This issue is specific to project backup files created and uploaded through the Node-RED project manager (from groov Manage Home page, click Node-RED > Project Management).
Important: You cannot upload a Node-RED project backup file created from a groov EPIC to a groov RIO or vice versa.
Workaround:
Modify the info.json file that's in the backup file and change the GRV-EPIC-PR1 to GRV-EPIC-PR2 (or vice versa):
- Unzip the backup file.
- Open the info.json in a text editor and change "PR1" to "PR2" or vice versa.
- Save the change and close the text editor.
- Rezip the backup file.
- Upload the new zip file through the Node-RED project manager (from groov Manage Home page, click Node-RED > Project Management > Upload Project).
Important: These steps are only for modifying a Node-RED project backup file created with a GRV-EPIC-PR1 or GRV-EPIC-PR2.
Resolution:
