Video gadgets erroneously indicate that trial period ended before it started

Versions Affected:

For groov EPIC processors: 3.1.0 to 3.4.1 (may affect earlier versions)
For all other part numbers: 4.3a to 4.4a (may affect earlier versions)

Resolved In Version:

For groov EPIC processors: 3.4.2
For all other part numbers: 4.4b

Symptoms:

Under the following conditions, a groov View video gadget will display one image and then disable itself and groov View will indicate that your trial period has ended:

A groov View license is not installed.
The groov View project is not configured to scan any devices.

Workaround:

If your project does not have a data store device, add one. On the page that has only a video gadget(s), add a tag from that (or any other existing) data store device, making sure the tag gets scanned (read). Trial mode will start correctly.

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue.
