Re-enabling communication to remote groov I/O Unit or groov RIO module may reconfigure channels

Applies To:

Firmware on the following:

  • GRV-EPIC-PR1
  • GRV-EPIC-PR2

Versions Affected:

All versions prior to 3.3.2

Resolved In Version:

3.3.2

Symptoms:

In the following circumstances, re-enabling communication to a remote groov I/O unit or a groov RIO module may cause all channels to be reconfigured, which then causes output values to reset:

  • A PAC Control strategy running on the groov EPIC processor has already configured a remote groov I/O unit or a groov RIO module.
  • The groov EPIC processor loses communication with the remote groov I/O unit or groov RIO module for a reason other than a reboot.
Under the above circumstances, channels should not be reconfigured.

Workaround:

Use the Set I/O Unit Configured Flag instruction before enabling communication to the groov I/O unit or groov RIO module.

Resolution:
