groov RIO, groov analog, and some groov digital modules are unresponsive; groov I/O module LEDs are red

Applies To:

Firmware for the following groov EPICs:

  • GRV-EPIC-PR1
  • GRV-EPIC-PR2
Firmware for the following groov RIOs:
  • GRV-R7-MM1001-10
  • GRV-R7-MM2001-10
  • GRV-R7-I1VAPM-3

Versions Affected:

For groov EPICs: all versions prior to 3.4.0
For groov RIOs: all versions prior to 3.5.0

Resolved In Version:

For groov EPICs: 3.4.0
For groov RIOs: 3.5.0

Symptoms:

For groov EPICs, if all the analog modules and the following digital modules on the chassis are unresponsive and show red on the module LED, you may have this issue:

  • GRV-IAC-24
  • GRV-IACI-12
  • GRV-IACDCTTL-24
  • GRV-IACHV-24
  • GRV-IACIHV-12
  • GRV-IDC-24
  • GRV-IDCI-12
  • GRV-IDCIFQ-12
  • GRV-IDCSW-12
  • GRV-OAC-12
  • GRV-OACI-12
  • GRV-ODCI-12
  • GRV-ODCSRC-24
  • GRV-OMRIS-8
This issue is more likely to happen after the following:
  • A module firmware update
  • Hot swapping a module
  • Other unexpected event that causes a module to go offline
For groov RIO modules, the I/O may be unresponsive. This situation is more likely to occur after a firmware update or after starting the module.

Workaround:

Cycle power to your groov EPIC processor or groov RIO module.

Resolution:
