A groov RIO with RSTP enabled may lose Ethernet connectivity on a network that has BPDU Guard enabled
Applies To:
GRV-R7-MM1001-10
GRV-R7-MM2001-10
GRV-I1VAPM-3
Versions Affected:
4.1.0
Resolved In Version:
4.1.1
Symptoms:
RSTP is enabled by default on groov RIO devices running the affected firmware version. With RSTP enabled, a groov RIO may lose Ethernet connectivity and become unreachable when connected to a network switch that has BPDU Guard enabled.
Workaround:
Disable RSTP on groov RIO devices that connect to networks that have BPDU Guard enabled:
- Connect the groov RIO to another network that does not have BPDU Guard enabled (for example, connect it directly to a laptop).
- From the groov Manage Home page, go to Network > Configure, move the slider of the RSTP option to the left to turn it gray, and click Save.
- Reconnect the groov RIO to the original network.
You may need to coordinate with your network administrator or IT department to clear any errors on the affected network switch port.
