Hi, I’m Mary. In this groov workshop, we’ll create groups of users so we can control who
00:09
can view specific pages. By now, you should have made a few pages and users. Check out
00:16
our other workshops for details on how to do this. Here in groov Build, I’ve created
00:22
a page just for managers. Notice there are no control gadgets here, so these managers
00:27
can monitor what’s happening but not control it. Since I know this page will only be used
00:32
by some users, I’ll set the Permissions for Limited Access. Now, to restrict managers
00:39
to pages like these, I’m going to create a group. I’ll Click on Configure, then Accounts.
00:48
Here we can see all the users that exist in our groov. We can also see if they belong
00:53
to any groups. Remember that Admins and Editors belong to all groups. None of our other users
00:59
belongs to a group at this stage. I’ll click on this ‘Groups’ tab… then Create Group,
01:00
to create my “Manager View” group. This is where we select users for the group. You
01:02
can make a group with just one user, so that only that one person can see particular pages.
01:08
This could be useful if you have several users logging into one groov, and you want each
01:13
to access only their own pages. Here I’ll select the users I want to be in this group
01:26
by checking the box next to their name. Then I’ll select the “Limited Access Page”
01:32
to include in the group. If a page you want is not showing up here, Open up the page and
01:38
check that you have set Permissions for ‘Limited Access’. I can also add the page to the
01:44
group here. So groups are simply collections of one or more users. And groups can limit
01:51
these users to only certain pages. Thanks for watching. See you soon.
