PAC Project software is fully integrated with groov EPIC processors, groov RIO edge I/O modules, SNAP PAC controllers and brains, and groov and SNAP I/O. PAC Project Professional includes the following: PAC Control Professional for developing control programs to run on groov EPIC processors and SNAP PAC controllers. groov EPIC, SNAP PAC R-series, and SNAP PAC S-series controllers are developer and IIoT ready with a built-in HTTP/HTTPS server and a RESTful API. About Controller Redundancy PAC Project Professional includes support for controller-level redundancy when used with identical SNAP PAC S-series controllers and the SNAP PAC Redundancy Option Kit (part number SNAP-PAC-ROK). To use controller redundancy, controller firmware R9.1b or higher is required. NOTE: Support for controller redundancy has been restricted to SNAP PAC S-series controllers running firmware version R10.4e or lower using PAC Project versions R9.0 to R10.6. In PAC Project R10.6 and higher, you are no longer able to create new strategies containing controller redundancy. You can continue to maintain existing strategies that have controller redundancy; however, those controllers must use firmware version R10.4e or lower. If you are using older (not groov EPIC, groov RIO, or SNAP PAC) controllers or brains with PAC Project, see the SNAP PAC System Migration Technical Note (form 1688) for important information. Installation Information All PAC Project software, both Basic and Professional, is in one single download. You can install the Basic version right away to get started. To install PAC Project Professional, first purchase the software, and then contact Opto 22 to confirm your purchase and receive your password. Click for more about purchasing software and getting a password. When you have your password, download and run the installer file. Choose PAC Project Professional and enter your password. The following applications are installed by default. If you do not want them all, uncheck the ones you do not want when prompted during the installation process. If you cannot update firmware, then you can apply a certificate from this zip file as needed. Before you download, read the Legal Agreement. Background information A valid security certificate may be required by mail servers to allow you to send emails from your Opto 22 products, for example, through: a PAC Control strategy running on a groov EPIC or SNAP PAC controller a groov View HMI sending event notifications a Node-RED flow on groov RIO or groov EPIC Valid security certificates may also be required by other services you may be using via software on your Opto 22 device (for example, using Node-RED to move data in and out of Google Sheets). All providers of email or other services update their security certificates from time to time. When that happens, your email or other service will stop working until you either install a new certificate or update firmware that contains the new certificate. Make sure you set up error handling procedures or other ways to verify that services are working. Opto 22 updates certificates as soon as we know about new ones. If you see a security error (for example, -2104 in PAC Control) or have some other indication of a certificate issue, be sure to check for new firmware or download this zip file.
