groov Digital Output On-pulse or Off-pulse Performs Inconsistently

Applies To:

Firmware for GRV-EPIC-PR1

Versions Affected:

1.0.0 through 1.3.0

Resolved In Version:

1.3.1

Symptoms:

When using the PAC Control commands Start On-Pulse or Start Off-Pulse, digital output pulsing performs inconsistently on the following modules:

  • GRV-OAC-12
  • GRV-OACI-12
  • GRV-ODCI-12
  • GRV-ODCSRC-24
When using the PAC Control command Start On Pulse or Start Off Pulse, you may observe these issues with the pulsed output:
  • Symptom #1—The I/O channel sometimes does not pulse.
  • Symptom #2—The I/O channel may display undesirable behavior such as a lengthened pulse when you use the Set TPO Period, Set TPO Percent, or Generate N Pulses command at approximately the same time as either the Start On-Pulse or Start Off-Pulse command.

Workaround:

For symptom #1, use chart logic to replicate the functionality of the Start On-Pulse and Start Off-Pulse commands. For example, turn ON (or OFF) the I/O channel, then delay the desired amount of time, and then the turn OFF (or ON) the channel.

For symptom #2, ensure that Start On Pulse (Start Off Pulse) does not run concurrently with changing TPO parameters or Generate N Pulses. If possible, move the I/O channel that is changed by TPO parameters or Generate N Pulses to a different module.

Resolution:
