KB88673
Published: December 18, 2019
Revision: 2.0
Can't open groov View, groov Manage, or groov Admin from Chrome browser on macOS or iOS
Applies To:
groov View, groov Manage, or groov Admin running on any of the following:
- GRV-EPIC-PR1
- GROOV-AR1, GROOV-AR1-BASE, GROOV-AR1-SNAP
- GROOV-AT1, GROOV-AT1-SNAP
- GROOV-SVR-WIN, GROOV-SVR-WIN-BASE, GROOV-SVR-WIN-SNAP
Versions Affected:
1.0.0 to 1.4.4 for GRV-EPIC-PR1
All versions for all others listed
Resolved In Version:
1.5.0 for GRV-EPIC-PR1
Symptoms:
When you use the Chrome browser on macOS 10.15 (or newer) or iOS 13 (or newer) to access groov Manage, groov View or groov Admin configured with a self-signed certificate, you receive the "Your connection is not private" error message, indicating NET::ERR_CERT_REVOKED. You won't be able to bypass the error. (Other browsers allow you to bypass the error.)
Workaround:
Use another browser on macOS 10.15 (or newer) or iOS 13 (or newer). Other browsers allow you to bypass the error, marking the connection "Not secure" even if the certificate is located in the certificate trust store.
Resolution:
Opto 22 has resolved this issue and will include the fix in an upcoming release.
Note: For GRV-EPIC-PR1, before you update the firmware, open groov Manage in another browser. Create a backup but do not save the SSL certificate (deselect Client SSL Certificates in the Backup page). After you update the firmware, create a new SSL certificate, making sure that you do not enter a value larger than 825 for the Expiration (Days) field.
