E2 analog inputs report a constant, invalid value

For units to be affected, both of these must be true:

On the component side, a sticker indicating 9298d or 9298e, and
on the non-component side (underside), a date code in the range of 05/22 to 08/23 (May 2022 to August 2023).

Symptoms:

If you are affected by this issue, any of the following combination of channels stop measuring inputs and report 0 counts or 61440 counts (if configured to read counts) or an invalid engineering unit value (if configured to read engineering units):

Channels 0 through 7
Channels 8 through 15
All channels

Cycling power to the E2 temporarily clears the issue.

Resolution:
