Ready to learn about or experiment with groov EPIC®, Opto 22's groov Edge Programmable Industrial Controller? 

The groov EPIC Learning Center functions as a complete demonstration unit—providing a live experience for your pilot and Proof of Concept projects—and training unit, traveling with you to provide on-site instruction. The Learning Center also plays an integral role in the free OptoU Online Training, providing hands-on experience and the opportunity for more in-depth exercises.

Note: The Learning Center is meant to be used as a demonstration unit. Do not use it in production applications.

A package of complete and fully functional projects for PAC Control, groov View, Node-RED, CODESYS, and Ignition Edge will be available soon to download and run on the Learning Center.

  • AC/DC Adapter and power cable, input 100-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz @ 1.6 A, output 12 VDC @ 6 A
  • Screwdriver to release or tighten module terminal connector

Software

  • groov Manage to configure, commission, and troubleshoot the processor
  • groov View to build browser-based operator interfaces, viewable on the EPIC's touchscreen, on mobile devices, and on computers
  • Control programming: flowchart-based PAC Control and IEC-61131-3 compliant languages through the CODESYS® Runtime Engine, including Function Block Diagram, Structured Text, Sequential Function Charts, and Ladder Diagram (requires GROOV-LIC-CRE license, which is available at no charge)
  • Ignition Edge® from Inductive Automation®, providing drivers to Allen-Bradley® and Siemens® PLCs and Modbus®/TCP devices, MQTT Transmission, and Edge Panel for building Perspective views (Ignition Edge development license included)
  • MQTT with Sparkplug messaging for secure, bi-directional, lightweight data communications
  • Node-RED to connect databases, cloud services, and APIs 
  • Optional Linux secure shell access (SSH) to download and run a custom-developed automation application built in C/C++, Python, Java, or other languages (requires GROOV-LIC-SHELL license, which is available at no charge)
