SNAP-AITM-8

$734.00 (USA and Canada only)

Availability: In stock
SNAP 8-Ch Type B, C, D, E, G, J, K, N, R, S, or T Thermocouple or +/-75, +/-50, or +/-25 mV Analog Input Module

Production Specification

The SNAP-AITM-8 provides eight channels of thermocouple or millivolt input. Each channel can be individually configured to accept a type B, C, D, E, G, J, K, N, R, S, or T thermocouple or a -75 to + 75 mV, -50 to +50 mV, or -25 to +25 mV input.

Part of the SNAP PAC System, the module mounts on a SNAP PAC rack with a SNAP PAC brain or rack-mounted controller. Analog, digital, and serial I/O modules can all be on the same rack. Such an I/O unit is also well suited for PC-based control or for use as intelligent remote I/O for an Allen-Bradley Logix PLC system, such as ControlLogix, MicroLogix, or CompactLogix.

Used with an Opto 22 SNAP PAC controller, the SNAP-AITM-8 module is ideal for customers with applications requiring high-resolution temperature monitoring, data acquisition, and control of autoclaves, industrial ovens, pasteurizers, heat exchangers, and other equipment that requires precise thermal regulation. The high density of points on the module reduces panel space for applications using a high number of thermocouple inputs, such as semiconductor, food, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical processing.

Compatibility: The SNAP-AITM-8 works with SNAP PAC brains and R-series controllers only. Like all SNAP analog input modules, the SNAP-AITM-8 provides transformer isolation to reduce noise and installation problems, and 4000 volts optical isolation (4000 volts of transient protection for 1 ms) from other modules on the same mounting rack.

The SNAP-AITM-8 is UL and CE approved.

NOTE: This module does not provide channel-to-channel isolation. If you need an isolated module, see the 4-channel SNAP-AITM-4i.

Case Study: University of California, Irvine

At the University of California, Irvine, Scientist Dr. John Garman and a team of his engineering students use an Opto 22 SNAP PAC System in their research of coal and biomass combustion. The SNAP PAC hardware controls the coal feed rate into an entrained flow reactor, monitors thermocouples that feed back process control data, monitors emissions, and acquires and logs data on operating conditions within the reactor.
